Lighthouse Veterinary Personnel Services Llc

HISTORY

  • Founded in 1988 by Drs. Paul Goulker and Eric Ratliff with the vision of a relief service based in central Ohio. We initially did business under the name Central Ohio Veterinary Relief Service.
  • Joined by partner Dr. Joe Priess in mid-1989.
  • Our first associate was hired in late summer 1989.
  • Name changed to Ohio Veterinary Relief Service in late 1989, reflecting our philosophical change of servicing all of Ohio with relief work.
  • Incorporated in July 1990.
  • Grew to 10 veterinarians working in Ohio only by the mid 1990's.
  • Expansion into other Midwestern states in 1995 through 1997, with adoption of the name Midwestern Veterinary Relief Service.
  • Our operating system was upheld at audit by the State of Ohio and the IRS in 1995.
  • Ownership transition in 1997 and 1998 with Dr. Goulker stepping down as an owner, and Drs. Terri Jones-Forte and John Showalter becoming partners.
  • Official expansion of our services in the realm of permanent placement of veterinary associates under the name M.V.R.S. Permanent Placement Program in 1999.
  • 20-30 associate veterinarians working with our group by 2000.
  • Our operating system was again upheld at audit in 2002 by the State of Ohio.
  • Name changed to Lighthouse Veterinary Personnel Services┬«, L.L.C. in 2003.
  • By 2003 we had approximately 40 associate veterinarians on our relief staff, and 8 veterinarians working on management. We also worked in our 400th veterinary clinic.
  • Onset of formal work as consultants in 2003, after informally providing this service for years to our existing clients.
