Dr. Ann Selby is a 1990 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She began working with Lighthouse (then O.V.R.S.) in late 1991. She left for a private practice position for 4 years in the late 1990's before returning in 2000.
The following interview took place on August 19, 2003:
Question: What is it like working for Lighthouse Personnel Services®?
Answers:
"Lighthouse is a good company to work for, they have been honest and fair. It is really the only job I
could have that would give me as much flexibility as I have."
"I have more flexibility with this job than others I could have - and there aren't a lot of jobs where you
can earn a good living and have flexibility too."
"A great thing about working for Lighthouse is that you don't have to put up with negative aspects of
an individual practice."
Question: What are the practices you work at like?
Answer:
"All the practices we work at are pretty good, and we can do
some good work at them."
Question: Isn't it tough working with new staff's and in
different facilities?
Answer:
"Staffs are pretty much the same wherever you go, as are our clients, and
where items are located in a clinic is actually pretty predictable."
Question: What are the best things about working for Lighthouse?
Answers:
"I like the flexibility in my schedule."
"I like the fact that I make a good living and get a lot of time off - that's what I like the most!"
"I like the variety."
Question: What else would you say?
Answer:
"I paid my car off in 1˝ years by paying extra through my expense reimbursements."
Question: You have been with Lighthouse since 1991, what changes have you seen over the years?
Answer:
"The practices are easier to work in than they used to be."
