Founded in 1988 by Drs. Paul Goulker and Eric Ratliff with the vision of a relief service based in central Ohio. We initially did business under the name Central Ohio Veterinary Relief Service.
Joined by partner Dr. Joe Priess in mid-1989.
Our first associate was hired in late summer 1989.
Name changed to Ohio Veterinary Relief Service in late 1989, reflecting our philosophical change of servicing all of Ohio with relief work.
Incorporated in July 1990.
Grew to 10 veterinarians working in Ohio only by the mid 1990's.
Expansion into other midwestern states in 1995 through 1997, with adoption of the name Midwestern Veterinary Relief Service.
Our operating system was upheld at audit by the State of Ohio and the IRS in 1995.
Ownership transition in 1997 and 1998 with Dr. Goulker stepping down as an owner, and Drs. Terri Jones-Forte and John Showalter becoming partners.
Official expansion of our services in the realm of permanent placement of veterinary associates under the name M.V.R.S. Permanent Placement Program in 1999.
20-30 associate veterinarians working with our group by 2000.
Our operating system was again upheld at audit in 2002 by the State of Ohio.
Name changed to Lighthouse Veterinary Personnel Services®, L.L.C. in 2003.
By 2003 we had approximately 40 associate veterinarians on our relief staff, and 8 veterinarians working on management. We also worked in our 400th veterinary clinic.
Onset of formal work as consultants in 2003, after informally providing this service for years to our existing clients.
